Avaada Energy, a leading renewable energy company, has recently announced its successful bid for a 421 MW solar project from Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC). The bidding process involved a highly competitive e-reverse auction, and Avaada emerged victorious with a quoted tariff of Rs 2.70/kWh.

This large-scale project will be commissioned within 18 months, and the two entities will sign a power purchase agreement for 25 years. Once operational, the solar plant is expected to generate approximately 750 million units of green energy annually, thereby reducing 6,98,250 tonne CO2 equivalent emissions. This renewable energy source has the potential to power around 5 lakh households.
