In an exciting development, ITI Ltd, a state-owned telecom gear manufacturer, announced on Monday that it has secured an advance purchase order worth Rs 3,889 crore from Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL). This order is aimed at deploying 23,633 sites for 4G services, signifying a significant milestone in the company’s growth and expansion plans. The supply period for the 4G telecom gear is expected to span 18-24 months under the contract.
Leading Indian telecom company BSNL has given ITI Ltd. an Advance Purchase Order (APO) for a reservation quota order in the West Zone. The design, engineering, supply, installation, commissioning, and Annual Maintenance Contract (AMC) for the 4G mobile network spanning 23,633 sites in the West Zone of BSNL’s network are all included in the scope of work covered by this agreement.
With a total contract value of Rs 3,889 crore, including the AMC for a period of 9 years, this partnership is set to bolster ITI Ltd’s position as a key player in the telecommunications sector. The supply period of 18-24 months ensures a smooth and timely deployment of the 4G network, allowing BSNL to enhance its service offerings and cater to the growing demands of its customers.
As part of the contract, ITI Ltd will undertake the manufacturing of the Radio Access Network (RAN). This crucial component forms the backbone of the 4G network, enabling seamless connectivity and efficient transmission of data, voice, and multimedia content. With its expertise in telecom infrastructure manufacturing, ITI Ltd is well-equipped to deliver high-quality, reliable, and scalable solutions that will empower BSNL’s network expansion.
