Tejas Networks Win Largest Deal From BSNL:
Tejas Networks, a leading provider of wireline and wireless networking products, has won a major contract worth Rs 696 crore from Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) to upgrade its IP-MPLS based Access and Aggregation Network (MAAN) using its advanced routers. The company secured the order after being technically shortlisted and submitting the lowest commercial bid in an open tender, beating out other top-tier global vendors.
Under the agreement, Tejas Networks will supply, install, and commission over 13,000 TJ1400 series access and aggregation routers to establish a converged multi-service packet network on a nationwide basis. This marks the largest single order that the company has received to date, according to Sanjay Nayak, Managing Director and CEO of Tejas Networks.
Nayak added that the contract provides an excellent opportunity for Tejas Networks to demonstrate its world-class capabilities in routing technology and deploy its carrier routing products on a large scale.
Tejas Networks designs and manufactures high-performance networking products for a variety of entities in over 75 countries, including telecommunications service providers, internet service providers, utilities, defense, and government agencies. The company is part of the Tata Group, with Panatone Finvest Ltd. (a subsidiary of Tata Sons Pvt. Ltd.) as its majority shareholder.
As of now, Tejas Networks’ shares are trading 3.7 percent higher at Rs 602.15. This significant contract win is expected to boost the company’s revenue and cement its position as a leading player in the networking industry.
