Yulu, the Bengaluru-based electric mobility platform, has joined hands with Bajaj Auto to introduce two new electric 2-wheelers (e2Ws) in India. The Miracle GR and DeX GR e-bikes promise greater operational efficiency, thereby improving Yulu’s overall financial metrics. Yulu’s AI-led technology stack powers the new e-bikes, which will be manufactured by Bajaj Auto in India.

The partnership between Yulu and Chetak Technology Ltd, a subsidiary of Bajaj Auto, is aimed at revolutionizing mobility through sustainable, shared, smart, and safe electric vehicles. Bajaj Auto, which already has a stake in Yulu, retails the Chetak electric scooter in the market. The company also helped localize and upgrade Yulu’s second-generation e-scooters and partly manufactured components.

Yulu claims that the new third-generation e-bikes are foolproof and fall-proof, and offer OTA support. They are trackable and offer easy manoeuvrability for both personal and commercial usage. Yulu plans to deploy around 1 lakh electric two-wheelers by October 2023.

The company also emphasized its collaboration with Magna for a battery-swapping network. Yulu and Magna have formed a joint venture called Yuma Energy, which offers ‘battery-as-a-service for electric two-wheelers. Magna invested $77 million to set up this joint venture in September 2022, and the service was launched on February 2, 2023.
