Bharat Forge and General Atomics to make key UAV components in India

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, a US-based company, and Bharat Forge, an Indian company, have announced a partnership to manufacture main landing gear components, subassemblies, and assemblies for remotely piloted aircraft in India. This partnership aims to boost manufacturing in the country.

This partnership is expected to result in significant capability-building for both General Atomics Aeronautical Systems and Bharat Forge, and also provide a boost to the Indian large, unmanned aircraft industry.

In addition, the partnership will also assist in the development of a manufacturing ecosystem for high-end drones in India.

GA-ASI is eagerly looking forward to working with Bharat Forge in the critical field of aerostructure manufacturing,” Vivek Lall, Chief Executive, General Atomics Global Corporation said in a statement on Tuesday (3 January)

The company produces structural and engine parts and subsystems for aircraft, as well as engines for both civilian and military use.
