Details of Chalet Hotels Acquisition of The Dukes Retreat:

Chalet Hotels, a company that owns and operates high-end hotels in India and works with popular chains such as Marriott International and Accor, has announced the acquisition of The Dukes Retreat, Khandala.

The resort, which has 80 rooms and is spread over 7.5 acres, was purchased for an enterprise value of Rs 133 crore. The hotel structure and its business are owned by The Dukes Retreat Pvt. Ltd, while the land is owned by Sonmil Industries Pvt. Ltd.

Chalet Hotels plans to expand and upgrade the property to reposition it as an upper-upscale green, lifestyle resort. The Dukes Retreat is located at a drivable distance from both Mumbai and Pune, making it an ideal getaway for city dwellers.

The resort includes 18 deluxe rooms, 54 executive rooms, and 8 cottages, as well as an outdoor pool, play area for kids, spa, and fitness centre. Guests can also enjoy a gourmet experience at the in-house restaurant.

The acquisition of The Dukes Retreat is part of Chalet Hotels’ plan to diversify its portfolio by expanding its owned asset portfolio in the leisure segment.
