Jindal Aluminium Invests ₹100-150 Cr to Expand Capacity at Bhiwadi Plant

New Delhi: Jindal Aluminium Limited (JAL), India’s largest aluminum extrusion company, is set to boost its manufacturing capacity at the Bhiwadi plant with an investment of ₹100-150 crore. This strategic move aims to increase the annual capacity to 60,000 tonnes, according to Pragun Khaitan, the Vice Chairman and Managing Director of JAL.

The upcoming investment follows the company’s previous capital infusion of ₹250 crore in 2022, coupled with an initial ₹100 crore investment made in 2021 for acquisition purposes. The total investment of approximately ₹500 crore demonstrates JAL’s commitment to meeting the growing demand for aluminum extrusion products.

Khaitan emphasized the necessity of keeping pace with the surging demand, stating, “Given the substantial growth in demand, it is imperative that we focus on expanding our operations. These investments will play a vital role in achieving our growth objectives.”

With a current capacity of 1.25 lakh tonnes per annum, Jindal Aluminium already holds a dominant market share in India’s extrusion sector, making it the country’s largest manufacturer in this industry. The company remains dedicated to exploring new opportunities in domestic manufacturing while expanding its presence in international markets through increased exports.

India’s aluminum demand, currently around 4 million tonnes per year, is projected to grow at a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 10-11% over the next decade. Khaitan affirmed that JAL will be well-prepared to meet this rising demand and stay ahead of the curve.

To optimize operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness, Jindal Aluminium plans to allocate significant resources to innovation and research and development (R&D). These endeavors will streamline processes, minimize waste, and yield cost savings. “Our focus lies in advancing technology, enhancing productivity, and effectively managing manufacturing costs,” Khaitan added.

Pragun Khaitan further highlighted JAL’s commitment to establishing a state-of-the-art extrusion facility that adheres to global standards, encompassing technology interventions, plant design, and facility creation. The company aspires to achieve the lowest cost and highest quality extrusions while benchmarking itself against global competitors, rather than solely against Indian counterparts.
