Jindal Steel & Power (JSP) Receives BIS Licence to Manufacture India’s First Fire Resistant Steel Structures
Jindal Steel & Power (JSP) has achieved a significant milestone by receiving BIS certification to manufacture India’s first-ever Fire Resistant Steel Structures. The company has developed this Hot Rolled Structural Steel at its Rail Mill & Special Profile Mill in Raigarh, Chhattisgarh, as per IS 15103. The steel is designed to withstand high-temperature or fire-prone areas and can resist temperatures up to 600 degrees Celsius for a maximum duration of 3 hours.
The development of Fire Resistant Steel is expected to revolutionize the construction industry by providing a solution to the challenge of fire protection in the design of steel structures. The availability of this steel will result in more efficient designs of structures for infrastructure projects such as industrial structures, refineries, bridges, metro projects, and steel & power plants as well as in hospitals, and commercial and residential buildings.
