Jio rolls out 5G in Odisha, aims to cover whole state by 2023

In the presence of Hon’ble Union Minister of Education, and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Hon’ble Union Minister of Communications, Railways, Electronics & Information Technology Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw today launched Jio True 5G services in Odisha, the heart of incredible India. The first towns to receive Jio True 5G services will be the silver city Cuttack and the temple city Bhubaneswar, starting today.

Jio created a distinctive True 5G experience zone at a special event in Bhubaneswar to celebrate the launch of 5G services in Odisha. Jio also showcased the immersive benefits of 5G in the fields of education, cloud gaming, smart offices, smart cities, and the ground-breaking AR-VR device, Jio Glass. The lives of the people in Odisha will undergo radical change as a result of these advantages. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was also inked by Reliance Jio and SOA University, situated in Bhubaneswar, regarding the establishment of a 5G-lab and cooperation on pertinent use-cases.

For Bhubaneswar, which has a big student population and is known as the IT hub of the East, Jio True 5G will be a real game changer as it will bring with it a wealth of opportunities and enhanced experiences for both locals and tourists to the city. As it prepares to host the FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup in the coming days, Bhubaneswar, India’s quickly rising sports capital, is the ideal location for the launch of Jio’s True 5G Data. Similar to this, consumers in Cuttack, a historic city with a 1,000-year history, may now get data on the newest Jio True 5G network.

A Jio spokesperson commented on the event, saying, “We are happy to debut Jio True 5G services in Odisha with the twin towns of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack. The True 5G network will quickly spread over the whole state of Odisha in the next months, covering the cities of Rourkela, Berhampur, Puri, Sambalpur, and Balasore by February 2023 and every tehsil and taluk by December 2023.

Due to the technology’s ability to revolutionise society and the exponential benefits it may provide, Jio engineers are working around the clock to make True-5G available to everyone in Odisha.

Shares of Reliance Industries Limited were last traded on BSE at ₹ 2,518.15 compared to the previous ₹ 2557.00. A total of 172,926 shares were exchanged in over 12141 transactions during the day.
