Details of JSW Energy Subsidiary Wind Power Facility:

JSW Energy Limited announced on Friday that its subsidiary, JSW Renew Energy Two Limited, has successfully commissioned 51 MW of wind power capacity in Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu. The company completed this as part of the phase-wise commissioning of the 450 MW ISTS-connected wind power project awarded under SECI tranche X in Tamil Nadu. JSW Energy has now commissioned a total of 78 MW of wind capacity under SECI X.

According to a regulatory filing, JSW Energy stated that “JSW Renew Energy Two Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Company, has commissioned 51 MW of wind power capacity under the phase-wise commissioning of the 450 MW ISTS-connected Wind Power Project awarded under SECI Tranche X at Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu.”

JSW Energy is a power generation, transmission, and trading company. It now has a total installed capacity of 6,615 MW, with 2,855 MW of capacity under construction. The under-construction capacities are expected to be commissioned in phases over the next 12-18 months.

JSW Energy aims to achieve 20 GW of capacity by 2030, with a short-term target of 10 GW by 2025. The company has a total locked-in capacity of 9.9 GW and is well-positioned to achieve its targets ahead of schedule.

The company has also entered the energy storage space and has secured 3.4 GWh of energy storage capacity through a battery energy storage system and hydro pumped storage plant.

JSW Energy has set an ambitious target of reducing its carbon footprint by 50% by 2030 and achieving carbon neutrality by 2050 by transitioning towards renewable energy.
