KEC International Secures Rs 1,560 Crore Orders from PGCIL for T&D Projects in India
KEC International, a leading infrastructure engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) company, has announced that it has secured new orders worth Rs 1,560 crore from Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL) for transmission & distribution (T&D) projects in India. The orders were obtained through the tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) route and include a 765 kV transmission line, 765/400 kV AIS substation, and 765 kV GIS substations.
Vimal Kejriwal, MD and CEO of KEC International, stated that these new orders, in addition to those announced earlier in the year, have significantly boosted the company’s order book in the domestic T&D market. He added that with the Indian government’s focus on green hydrogen and renewables such as solar, there has been an uptick in the domestic T&D market, which had been slow for the past few years.
“Our YTD order intake now stands at an all-time high of over Rs 21,000 crore, a substantial growth of 30 percent vis-Ã -vis last year,” Kejriwal said.
