On Tuesday, January 3, 2023, the EPC company announced that its construction division had received significant orders for its water and effluent treatment business. According to Larsen & Toubro (L&T) categorization, the value of the significant project falls between ₹5,000 crore and ₹7,000 crore.
L&T Construction’s Water & Effluent Treatment Business has secured additional contracts from the Madhya Pradesh government to build two lift irrigation projects on a turnkey basis. These projects will provide irrigation to a cultivable area of 205,000 hectares, comprising over 500 villages in the Dewas and Dhar districts of Madhya Pradesh. This marks a repeat order for the company from the Madhya Pradesh government.
L&T Construction has been commissioned to survey, design, engineer, procure, and construct pump houses, rising and gravity mains, distribution networks, and a SCADA system for two lift irrigation projects in Madhya Pradesh. The projects will lift 60 cumecs of water from the Narmada River to irrigate farmlands, benefiting 300,000 farmers. The automation system will ensure a consistent supply of water to the farms during the Rabi season.
