Details of L&T – H2Carrier Team Up:

Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Norway-based H2Carrier (H2C) to collaborate on the development of floating green ammonia projects for industrial use, with the goal of decarbonizing the global economy.

H2C has specialized in developing and integrating Power-to-X (PtX) projects using affordable and non-commercial renewable power. Under the MoU, L&T will be a partner in the engineering, procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning (EPCIC) of the topsides for H2C’s floating process plants.

H2C will construct the P2XFloaterâ„¢ hull in Asia, while L&T will design and manufacture the topside process and utility modules for producing green hydrogen and green ammonia, including electrolyzers, nitrogen generation plants, and ammonia synthesis units.

The installation and integration of the topsides modules on the hull can be customized to location preferences. L&T has a long history in the Indian energy industry, and is now positioning itself as a green energy major. H2C is the designer and owner of the proprietary floating energy production and storage system P2XFloaterâ„¢, an industrial scale facility for floating green hydrogen and green ammonia.

The company will build, own/lease, and operate a fleet of P2XFloatersâ„¢, which are based on proven technologies from the oil & gas industry and an e-control system for balancing renewable electricity feedstock.
