SJVN Green Energy Secures Rs 1,400 Cr Wind Energy Project

SJVN Green Energy, a subsidiary of SJVN Ltd, has successfully acquired a Rs 1,400 crore wind power project, which is a big accomplishment for the renewable energy sector. The Solar Energy Corporation of India held a competitive bidding procedure to choose the project, which has a 200 MW capacity.

SJVN Green Energy will be in charge of managing the development of this wind energy project at any place in India under the engineering procurement construction (EPC) contract. The project’s development and construction are expected to cost over Rs 1,400 crore.

In the tariff-based competitive bidding procedure organised by the Solar Energy Corporation of India for the Phase-XIV of the inter-state transmission system (ISTS) linked wind power projects in India, SJVN Green Energy was declared the single winner. Following a successful e-RA (reverse auction) held on June 12, 2023, the business acquired the whole stated capacity of 200 MW at a price of Rs 3.24 per unit.

The project is expected to produce over 578.16 million units (MUs) of clean energy annually, making a major contribution to the nation’s green energy targets. The total energy production is anticipated to reach an amazing 14,454 MUs over the course of 25 years.

The wind energy project is anticipated to be put into operation 24 months after the Power Sell Agreement (PSA) is signed, as per the agreed-upon schedule specified in the request for solution (RFS). This quick turnaround time illustrates SJVN Green Energy’s dedication to on-time project completion.
