Sterlite Power awarded 35-year transmission project for renewable energy zones in Rajasthan

New Delhi, March 17, 2023 – Sterlite Power announced on Friday that it has been awarded a transmission project by PFC Consulting Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Power Finance Corporation. The project is for the evacuation of power from renewable energy zones in Rajasthan and is based on a build, own, operate, transfer basis for a period of 35 years.

This prestigious project includes the transmission of power from Fatehgarh (9.1 GW), Bhadla (8 GW) and Ramgarh (2.9 GW) areas in Rajasthan. It is a crucial part of the roadmap released by the Ministry of Power in 2022 for integrating more than 500 GW of renewable energy capacity to the national grid by 2030.

The transmission system involves the construction of a 350km, 765kV transmission corridor from Fatehgarh III to Beawar in Rajasthan.
