Founded in March 1995, Vodafone Idea Limited is a leading telecommunications service provider in India, offering a range of services including voice, data, and other enhanced features across 2G, 3G, and 4G platforms. The company caters to both individual consumers and businesses, providing solutions like text messaging and digital services.
As of December 31, 2023, Vodafone Idea boasts a strong customer base with over 223 million subscribers, holding a 19.3% share of the subscriber market. The network handled 401 billion minutes of voice calls and transferred 6,004 billion MB of data in that period.
Internationally, as of the end of 2023, Vodafone services over 300 million customers in 17 countries and has extended its Internet of Things (IoT) partnerships to networks in 45 countries.
Drawing from over 30 years of combined experience from its Vodafone and Idea brands, the company reported a total income of ₹424,885 million for the fiscal year 2023, with ₹321,256 million recorded in the nine months leading up to December 31.
In India, Vodafone Idea operates approximately 183,400 tower locations and provides broadband services to over 438,900 units, covering more than a billion people. Following its merger, the company has significantly expanded its 4G coverage.
As of the end of 2023, Vodafone Idea has a robust retail presence with 2,300 branded stores across urban India, covering over 95% of all districts through both company-owned and franchised outlets.
By the same date, the company employed 12,598 staff members across all of its operations.
