Ashok Leyland Ltd has disclosed a robust 9% year-on-year (YoY) upswing in its total sales, with an impressive total of 19,202 units sold throughout September 2023. This achievement stands in stark contrast to the 17,549 vehicles sold during the same month in 2022, as officially reported by the company in a regulatory filing submitted to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
The company’s domestic sales segment experienced an even more substantial growth rate, surging by an impressive 10% to reach 18,193 units. This remarkable performance encompasses a diverse range of vehicles, including medium and heavy commercial vehicles (M&HCV trucks), buses, and light commercial vehicles (LCVs), according to the company’s announcement.
One particularly remarkable highlight is the extraordinary surge in bus sales within the domestic market. Ashok Leyland outperformed itself by dispatching an astonishing 1,851 units in September, marking an impressive 119% increase compared to the 847 units sold during the corresponding period a year earlier. The overall domestic sales of medium and heavy trucks also showed a commendable growth rate, registering a robust 14% increase.
